Self-saturation of atomic transitions in the presence of intense laser radiation

摘要
The saturation effects of gas media in intensive resonant laser fields and in noncoherent radiation caused by its own spontaneous emission are considered. A simple nonlinear system of kinetic equations for the description of the saturation effect in the case of an optically thin medium and atoms with nondegenerate levels is offered. The Bennett structure and band of uniform saturation exist in the velocity distribution function of particles, the parameters of which are reciprocity-dependent. The regularities in the behavior of the uniform band and the Bennett structures upon changes in the atomic transition parameters and intensity of the laser radiation are clarified.
