High-energy emission from binary pulsars

摘要
Pulsars provide ideal accelerators of ultra-relativistic particles. High-energy emission is expected as the pulsar wind interacts with any gaseous surroundings. This interaction can be particularly strong in binaries with companion stars producing a strong mass outflow from their surfaces. We discuss here the theory and high-energy observations of pulsar binaries with pulsar/outflow interaction.
