摘要
The enlargement of the European Union with Central and Eastern European countries (GEE countries) is a difficult task in relation to the agricultural sector The Union has problems with the Common Agricultural Policy. The CEE countries have problems with the transition to market economy in the agricultural sector: Which strategy of integration should be chosen? A quick adjustment to the CAP raises severe problems for the Union and the CEE countries. Nevertheless a change of the CAP is necessary at feast in the longer run. The main efforts in the CEE countries should focus on the establishment of efficient internal markets, and the establishment of a Free Trade Area among the CEE countries including the agricultural sector.
