Long-term potentiation and synaptic coding of time-varying inputs

摘要
We consider the effects of long-term potentiation (LTP) on synaptic coding of rate modulated presynaptic discharges. A well-characterized model of a prototypical inhibitory synapse was modified to incorporate an inhibitory LTP (ILTP) mechanism. Preliminary comparison of postsynaptic responses with and without ILTP further support previous conclusions that LTP be considered an integral part of cells' dynamics.
