摘要
This article applies ethical approach to the analysis of Yeats's ethical ideals as presented in his plays of symbolism. It points out that magic and religion are the ideological foundations for Yeats' plays. It holds that Yeats's presentation of a supernatural world is to criticize materialism and rational cognition based on daily experience for the loss of moral cultivation and religious faith, and thus to make people aware of the lost spiritual world.
