This paper analyses the problems existing in the practical teaching of computer basic curriculum. Having benefited from the successful experience on practical teaching reform of other universities, the practical teaching reform of the computer basic curriculum are discussed from the perspectives of teaching scheme, teaching contents, teaching methods, examination forms and management mode according to the real situation of our institute. The proposed practical teaching reform was proved to be feasible and correct by over seven year's teaching practice on computer basic curriculum's practical teaching.
