The H11 Mode with a Reduced per-Unit-Length Attenuation in a Modified Circular Waveguide

摘要
A technique is developed for calculation of the attenuation and phase coefficients of the H-11 hybrid mode in a modified circular waveguide. The obtained complex dispersion equation is solved by means of a numerical method. A solution is obtained with no restrictions imposed on the electric and mechanical parameters of the waveguide. It is found that, a certain combination of the parameters of the modified waveguide provides for a per-unit-length attenuation that is substantially lower than that in a standard waveguide.
