Design and Development of Large-Scale Sport Events Information System - Based on Project Management

In order to effectively implementing the organization and management of large-scale sport events, and carrying out the important role of project management during the events, by integrating the use of research methods such as system science, management science, information technology, we designed a information system for large-scale sport events based on project management. In this paper we systematically discusses the characteristics of large-scale sport events based on project management, explores the application goal of information system for large-scale sport events based on project management, and on this basis we elaborates comprehensively on the system's functional requirements, framework, functional structure, and other major issues during the execution. Large-scale sport events are large-scale projects, involving a wide range of closely inter-related components and a combination of many people. How to organize effective management of large sport events has always been a hot issue of the academic research. Project management is a management activity, which is the conscious organization and management of project activities in accordance with the characteristics and laws of the projects. Sport events bear the typical project management features, thus creating the management information system of large-scale sport events projects is of great theoretical and practical significance for project management.
