摘要
Future generation heterogeneous wireless networks are facing a serious issue of continuing the service which let to vertical handoff as indispensible. Mobile users may efficiently utilize the overlapping heterogeneous networks while moving from one network to another in order to attain better non-real-time or real-time services, everywhere at any time the most important issue in such environment is the Always Best Connected (ABC) concept. Seamless and efficient handover between different heterogeneous access technologies is a great challenge as it needs to satisfy the different performance of QoS and security constraints. Therefore, standards are required which can facilitate seamless vertical handover between the heterogeneous networks to provide such multiple mobility management mechanisms. The IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover (MIH) which act as a glue to connect this networks irrespective of their media access technique. The performance evaluation of IEEE 802.21 MIH using two different mobility protocol of Mobile IP (MIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Guarantee on the performance of practical application is provided by the MIH in both MIP and SIP.
