摘要
This study was conducted for three years on 617 individuals to estimate the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) through two endogenous markers and various formulas. The chronic kidney disease (CKD) is increasing due to an increase in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), essential hypertension (EH), and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). According to the recommendations of KDIGO and NKF since the beginning of 2012 the diagnosing and staging of CKD are defined by the three parameters: reason, GFR and albuminuria. Both biomarkers GFR and albuminuria are very important when the clinic is very poor and there is a risk of progression to chronic kidney failure (CKF). Over the last decade the new protein marker cystatin C has been offered and extensively studied as an alternative to creatinine. In parallel, since 2009 onwards various modified and new formulas of GFR are offered, involving only creatinine, cystatin C only, or both markers. So we decided to introduce and validate a method of serum cystatin C, and then along with the serum creatinine to estimate GFR through four new equations. The results give us the reason to accept and suggest that the estimation of GFR should be based on the combined formula, including creatinine and cystatin C.
