Providing electronic access to data in support of weed science society activities

During 1995, a world wide web site was established to promote the activities and objectives of the Weed Science Society of America (WSSA). The internet site was designed with an interface which intuitively mimics the three main functions of the society; promote weed science as a profession and activity among society members, convey information on weed control technology and weed biology, and to provide an interchange of ideas on weed control issues. By making available a calendar of society events, and lists of society officers and available publications, members are able to keep abreast of current activities. By accessing the weed and herbicide subsections, members can gain access to resources maintained by the society or its members.
