摘要
In this paper, we propose an approach for generating 3D models of trees from freehand sketches that has the benefit of offering simple and rapid user control. The system generates 3D geometry tree from a 2D sketch, which only need sketch the silhouettes of tree is quicker and more intuitive for a user than having to sketch each branch of a tree. When drawing the sketch, our system using botanical knowledge and the fractals to form trees automatically. We illustrate these ideas by presenting a sketch-based interface, used for sketching tree silhouettes, and construction visual hull using sketch, meanwhile, using botanical knowledge and the fractals to generates branches. Our system allows the user to design trees simple and interactively as compared with rule-based tree modeling systems. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
