Decoupled Dual-band Slot Antenna with Bidirectional Patterns for WLAN Applications

摘要
A dual-port dual-band slot antenna with bidirectional radiation pattern is presented in this paper. A fork-shaped monopole is designed as the element, generating three resonant points to cover the desired two bands for WLAN systems. In order to obtain bidirectional patterns in both operation bands, the monopole is printed above a slotted square ground, forming the slot antenna. Besides, a decoupling structure is proposed, which consists of three protruded strips connected with a rectangle patch for isolation enhancement, simultaneously maintaining the operation band for each element. A prototype is fabricated and measured for validation. The measured results show that the proposed antenna exhibits two operation bands of 2.36-2.65 GHz and 5-5.5 GHz, with the S-11 lower than -10 dB. An isolation of higher than 15 dB is also achieved in the operation bands.
