Participation of a stromal carbonic anhydrase and Rubisco in a thylakoid-associated multienzyme complex isolated from soybean and poplar

摘要
The paper provides evidence that in the soluble fraction of buffer-washed soybean and poplar thylakoids the native protein with MW approximately 160 kDa exhibited CA activity. Analysis by SDS-PAGE showed dissociation of 160 kDa protein into a single polypeptide with MW 25 kDa. The reported results can be used in addition to our recent results [(1)] that in pea, one isoenzymic form of soluble chloroplastic CA is associated with Rubisco and, other proteins in an extrinsic multiprotein complex on the outer (stromal) surface of thylakoids. To this conclusion we now added that the aggregate is widespread and its size showed some species-specific variation.
