摘要
Processing 1900 metric air dry tons of recovered paper per day qualifies Haindl Paper as one of the largest paper deinking mills in the world. Beginning in 1996 Haindl Paper became involved with an innovative on-going twofold approach toward improving residual stickies removal in their old news (ONP)/old magazines (OMG) recycling process. Instead of the traditional approach focusing on pressure screening technology, the existing two-stage postflotation module was upgraded with new injector(aeration element) technology. Residual stickies removal efficiency was increased from 45 to 60%. After additional mill trials with a pilot flotation cell were performed, Haindl was convinced of a new flotation process application. Floating residual stickies from the fine slotted tailing screen accepts. Stickies removal efficiency at this point in the process was 70%. This paper describes the results of Haindl mill trials and flotation equipment upgrades covering the time frame of 1996 through 1998. This European mill experience is an excellent example of how, with a moderate capital investment, an existing recycling system can be upgraded to improve recycled pulp quality.
