Sibling rivalry in early childhood

In a family in Indonesia, it is common for parents to have more than one child, so sibling competition occurs in a family. Sibling rivalry among brothers provides many opportunities for children to develop social and emotional aspects in their environment. One's relationship is seen as a unique relationship consisting of two characteristics, positive characteristics (love and affection) and negative characteristics (conflict and competition). Sibling rivalry among brothers arises from the fear of losing the love and attention of their parents. However, there are still many parents who consider competition as a normal thing that does not need to get special care. Based on this, the purpose of this chapter is to describe the competitiveness of concepts, causes, and influence of sibling competition in early childhood.
