摘要
In the present work, glasses with a composition of 50 mol% P2O5, 30 mol% CaO, (20 - x) mol% Na2O and x mol% Fe2O3 (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 y 5) have been generated via the conventional melt-quenching method. A broad based characterization approach combining many techniques (X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, and thermal analysis) has been used. XRD analysis revealed that the main phase identified for all compositions investigated was the sodium-calcium phosphate [NaCa(PO3)(3)]. Glass fibers from these compositions were produced by the melt extraction technique and their morphology was characterized by the formation of Rayleigh waves due to the viscosity of the melt. Morphology of fibers was observed by scanning electron microscopy.
