Status of a W-band pulsed 200 kW Gyroklystron experiment

A W-band powerful three-cavity gyroklystron with the TE021 operating mode is currently under investigation at the Institute of Applied Physics (IAP) and GYCOM Co. At the 24(th) IR&MM Conference in Monterey we reported 195 kW peak output power, corresponding to 25% efficiency and 26-dB gain [1]. Recently, a three-cavity gyroklystron produced 265 kW peak at 93,2 GHz with an efficiency of 26%. A saturated 22-dB gain and bandwidth of about 360 MHz have been observed.
