摘要
Multi-filamentary MgB2 superconductors are well suited for high power applications, especially, for the creation of high current DC compact cables. In this framework, a 10 kA all superconducting cable with a diameter of 60 mm is under development inside the european project Best-Path. This cable working with MgB2 superconductors at 20 K will be cooled down with gaseous Helium at 20 bars. To investigate the protection of the cable in the case of fault current, lighting, or defects in conductors, a multi-physical numerical model has been developed.
