Crystallinity of polymers poster

This poster illustrates a new simple procedure to determine temperature dependent percent crystallinity of a polymer. The procedure utilizes Differential Scanning Calorimetry to determine the heat capacity of a polymer and combines that information with information from the Advanced Thermal Analysis Laboratory (ATHAS)(1) data bank,which is under the direction of Professor Bernard Wunderlich. This procedure assumes (consistent with ATHAS data) that the heat capacity contribution of the amorphous content can be extrapolated from the melting region to substantially lower temperatures. This poster explains and illustrates examples of this important new technique.
