摘要
A low power CMOS voltage mode line driver for Fast Ethernet has been designed in a 180nm low cost technology from GlobalFoundries. Very low power consumption is achieved by using a voltage mode approach with a low power rail-torail operational amplifier (opamp). Using a Class-AB output stage further reduces the power consumption. While transmitting pseudo random data the power consumption is measured to be only 24mW which is to the best of the authors knowledge the lowest power consumption reported to date for such a line driver.
