Design of hybrid refractive-diffractive petzval objective in visible band

摘要
Basing on a conventional 5-element Petzval objective in visible band, we design a hybrid refractive-diffiractive Petzval objective in visible band. The chief optical parameters of the designed Petzval objective are as follows: the effective focal length f equals 101.5mm; the F number equals 1.60, the half field of view HFOV equals 6.79 degrees. The objective consists of 2 materials, 3 elements, a diffractive surface and an aspheric surface, and weighs only thirty percent of the conventional objective. The performance merits of the designed objective are greatly improved as compared with the conventional version, and the optical transfer function MFT is greater than 0.5 at the spatial frequency of 201p/mm, which can satisfy the requirements of modern photograph and photoelectric imagery.
