摘要
Neoliberal urbanism has consolidated, thus increasing socioterritorial fragmentation in material and symbolic terms. In this context, the article analyzes two urban proposals resulting from public policies and very differentiated investments that influence the production of residential habitat in the sprawl area of Bahia Cauquenes, city of Ushuaia, Argentina. With a qualitative and comparative approach to the identification of resulting habitat types, a historical reconstruction and analysis of the socio-spatial dynamics of the area has been carried out. The analysis contributes to the understanding of the mediating role of urban policies and habitat by connecting matrices of abstract appearance (neoliberal urbanism/self-management urbanism), but no less active and present in daily life, with the concrete practices of habitat production and their implications on the urban development model.
