摘要
In any organization, it is very important to recognize and reward high-performing employees in order to lift up the morale of the employees as well as retaining talent. However, companies have to be careful and adopt the habit of equity when rewarding their employees in order to avoid any form of favoritism with some employees. Favoritism at the work place has the results, which are very discernible in terms of endorsing and promoting someone unduly. Favoritism has a critical impact in the organizational dynamics, building enmity and resentment between the employees. It is evident from past researches that, organizations continue to grapple with a challenge of poor service delivery due to low morale of unflavored employees as well as the favored unskilled workers. The conduciveness of the office environment has first time impression on the customers and the welfare of the employees, and this therefore beckons every organization to have in place, motivated effective employees to see to it that the full potential of its human resource is unleashed and most importantly, is sustained. This can only be done when equity is applied in all the employees as the ability of an organization to be productive and indeed competitive depends mostly on its employees; determinant on how productive its workforce is, which is further determinant on how motivated the workforce is.
