CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FACILITIES PROVIDING SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC

The main goal of the paper is to characterize and compare various structures of the facilities providing social services and facilities for the implementation of social protection by the regions in the Slovak republic. In this analysis have been used the official individual data of regular annual surveys (SOC 1-01) provided by Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic. Based on the graphical and quantitative analysis by using the statistical methods the paper describe categories of the facilities by number of employees, type of ownership, number of cared persons in the facility, persons' ages, the nature of their diseases, etc. in the NUTS 3 regions of the SR. By using the variaty of statistical descriptive methods the paper come to the conclusion that there are significant differences between the regions of Slovakia concerning the situation of social housing, categories of social facilities, number of their employees per person, type of ownership, number of cared persons in the facility, persons' ages, the nature of their diseases, etc. We came to the conclusion that there is an dissimilar urgent need for providing the social housing in the different regions in the SR.
