摘要：
The extensive public domain math libraries in netlib [II] have no Java counterparts; this limits the development of Java applications with significant math content. It is too costly to rewrite this code in Java by hand and to maintain it once written. We have chosen to develop a Fortran to Java translator, f2j, that translates the subset of Fortran found in math libraries into efficient Java code. F2j reduces both the development and maintenance costs for Java math libraries.
