Doped Na2O•Bi2O3•B2O3 Glass as Neutral Density Filter

摘要
Sodium Bismuth Borate(NBB) glass doped with transition metal (vanadium, iron, cobalt) with composition 20Na(2)O center dot 30Bi(2)O(3)center dot(50-x)B2O3 center dot xV(2)O(5)(x=0.2,0.3), 20Na(2)O center dot 30Bi(2)O(3)center dot(50-x)B2O3 center dot xFe(2)O(3)(0.2 <= x <= 0.5),20Na(2)O center dot 30Bi(2)O(3)center dot(50-x)B2O3 center dot xCoO(x=5,7.5) were prepared using conventional melt quenching technique. Optical transmissiom spectra of doped sodium bismuth borate have been recorded in wavelength range 400-700nm. The results showed that the transmittance decrease with increase thecontent of transition metal in the glass. This transmission spectra showed that doped Na2O center dot Bi2O3 center dot B2O3 have the characteristics of neutral density filter.
