Super-integrated data-driven processor architecture for interoperable networking environment

Interoperability to coordinate various protocols is essential to extend network flexibly with keeping services continuity. Currently, we are studying data-driven implementation of CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architect) to realize interoperability with some standardized protocols. However, protocols should be coordinated for introducing additional networking entities. This paper proposes a super-integrated data-driven processor architecture which effectively handles and converts protocols to realize interoperability among application objects. Real-time multi-processing is essential to satisfy time constraints in protocol handling and conversion. This paper shows that our data-driven processor CUE-p (Coordinating Users' requirements and Engineering constraints prototype) has real-time multi-processing capability in protocol handling. This also indicates that data-driven processor is one of the most suitable processors for protocol conversion. Then, we describe proposed data-driven processor optimized to implement protocols used in CORBA. The processor can be realized current VLSI technology. Finally, super-integrated data-driven processor which implements distributed object environment with 1-chip is discussed.
