Correlation of emission intensity and spectral diffusion in room temperature single-molecule spectroscopy

摘要
Single-molecule fluorescence dynamics in polystyrene are statistically analyzed to reveal correlations between fluctuations in emission wavelength λ0 and intensity I0 (see picture). These correlations were found to depend on the mean emission wavelength of the single molecules, which proves synchronous shifts of the absorption and fluorescence single-molecule spectra.
