摘要
In anti-ageing medicine, always take an exhaustive history and perform a comprehensive examination. This should take over an hour and should identify nutritional, hormonal, neurochemical and digestive deficiencies, Institute tests that are clinically useful. This will include 24-hour urine testing to evaluate mineral deficiencies including zinc, magnesium, calcium and iodine Levels Always assess methylation by means of a homocysteine assay and urine testing, which assesses methylation of oestrogens. A blood histamine assay is another way to assess methylation. Adequate methylation ensures the formation of healthy DNA, the detoxification of hormones and the effective processing of neurotransmitters, and requires sufficient levels of vitamins B3, B6, B12 and folic acid A 25(OH) vitamin D assay is absolutely mandatory; vitamin D being cancer protective [see JCM 2007;6(51:40] Hormones can be assessed by means of salivary and 24-hour urine assays. Blood testing does not always accurately reflect the activity of your patient's hormones.
