Teaching and learning in the information age - Concepts, principles and practice

Teaching and learning is one of the most important things in one's life, which have been noticed for a long time. The content of this paper focuses on the teaching and learning of the information age, presenting some ideas and programs of the CAI in our practice. Some are the author's personal experience, such as two epochal international seminars, research and implementation on the developing multimedia courseware and running it on networks. Some are ideas first presented by the author at formal or informal lectures, such as the four stages of the CAI development in China, the industrial mode of the CAI courseware's design and construction, two general modes of courseware and four fundamental sites, etc. The others come from the official files, (the penman is a key member of the drafting group), such as the basic tenet and proposal of National CAI Cooperative Group, the technical norm for the design and construction of courseware, the evaluation of the courseware quality, the executive steps to change the space-time ideology of teachers and students, etc.
