摘要
PublicTheology as a project for Theology's participation in social life is a promising current, however it needs to deepen into its philosophical basis. Inside public Theology we will focus particularly in David Tracy's approach as the more appropriate in order to deepen into the Philosophy behind it. We can see, therefore, how at the bottom of public Theology's project there are strong connections with Gadamer's hermeneutics and Habermas' social theory. On the one hand, Tracy explicitly recognizes Gadamer's inspiration. On the other hand, we can appreciate a growing relationship between Tracy's and Habermas' positions. Identifying these two philosophical influences allows us to recognize some inner tensions inside public theology that will condition its future developments.
