Numerical results for the defects in two-dimensional one-way coupled map lattices

摘要
The existence of defects plays an important role in determining the characteristic features of spatiotemporal systems. In this paper, we numerically investigate the model of a two-dimensional (2D) one-nay coupled map lattice system, and find defects in its spatial patterns. The origin of defects is related to the mismatch of the spatial behaviors of two edges and then these defects are called topological defects. Some characteristic features of the defect distribution are shown numerically.
