摘要
Since CFRP offers a magnificent blend of good strength, less weight and more modulus, they are finding huge application in all the areas. Even though the tensile strength (elasticity) of carbon fiber (CF) and glass fibers (GF) are same, CF modulus is greater than the GF for nearly three to four times. To assemble the composite parts together drilling is well known machining task performed on composites. The nature of the hole formed has a critical effects on use of composites. According to the previous research works, it is confirmed that the "thrust force" (push force) developed during drilling has the straight impact on the nature of the hole produced. Hence in this particular work tests were directed to foresee the impact of drilling procedure parameters like, tool point edge (TPE), tool speed (N), tool feed-rate (FR) and tool size (TS) on the push force produced. Hand-layup strategy is used to produce the CFRP test example. The outcome results implies that, among the considered factors tool point edge has greatest effect on the push force pursued by the tool speed. Tool feed-rate has least impact over the nature of hole. The research work also additionally brought about the posting of the optimal mixing of process factors utilizing Taguchi Method and Response Surface Methodology (RSM).
