Lead(II) Nitrilotriacetate and Ethylenediaminetetraacetate Complexes with Unicharged Cations

摘要
The lead(II) nitrilotriacetate and ethylenediaminetetraacetate complexes M(I)Pb(Nta) and M(2)(I)Pb(Edta)center dot nH(2)O with alkali-metal, ammonium, and thallium cations (M(I) = Na, K, Rb, Cs, NH(4), and Tl) are synthesized. Their X-ray structural and IR spectroscopic characteristics are determined. The IR spectroscopic data mostly suggest an ionic character of the Pb-O bonds in the compounds synthesized. This is consistent with the results of X-ray diffraction study of a series of complexonates obtained. The Pb-O and Pb-N bonds in Na(2)Pb(Edta)center dot 2H(2)O are found to be stronger than in NaPb(Nta). As for other Pb(II) complexonates, the Pb-O bonds are stronger in the nitrilotriacetate complexes, while the Pb-N bonds are stronger in the ethylenediaminetetraacetate complexes.
