Use and training in ICT in mathematics teachers: a qualitative analysis

摘要
One of the skills that is most demanded of teachers by the Ministry of National Education -MEN-is the use of information and communication technologies -ICT. In accordance with this, the present investigation focused on characterizing the ICT training of mathematics teachers from educational institutions in the Barranquilla District, and their influence on their pedagogical practices. For this, techniques such as: surveys, non-participant observations and focus groups were applied to 23 teachers, with the proposal of collecting information on ICT knowledge, frequency of use and type of application. The main findings were the limitations regarding the technological knowledge of teachers for teaching mathematics and the disarticulation of this competence with pedagogical practices. It was concluded that teachers have these deficiencies, since the programs from which they graduate do not deepen or adequately integrate technology into their future professional practice. Finally, a series of competences are proposed, which every teacher must have, when teaching mathematics, using ICT.
