Stelidota adsuffusa, new species, from Florida and the Bahamas is described, illustrated, and included in a new key with three previously known North American species. Lectotypes are designated for S. coenosa Erichson and S. ruderata Erichson from the West Indies. The name S. ferruginea Reitter is newly placed in synonymy under S. Coenosa Erichson.
