摘要：

Atomic carbon emission at 492 GHz (P-3(1) --> P-3(0)) was detected from a sample of 49 Southern Hemisphere H II regions using the Antarctic Submillimeter Telescope and Remote Observatory (AST/RO). The sources are compact, relatively isolated members of the Wilson et al. (1970) catalog. Most spectra show multiple [C I] emission components, and every H II region has associated [C I] emission.
