摘要
The high temperature corrosion of chromium (Cr) in the presence of molten carbonate has been studied in CO2-O-2 atmosphere in the temperature range from 873 to 1073 K. The hot corrosion did not occur when Cr was immersed in (Li0.62K0.38)(2)CO3 melt. With a (Li0.62K0.38)(2)CO3 film, the hot corrosion occurred at 923 K similar to 973 K in an oxygen containing atmosphere and the corrosion rate was proportional to oxygen pressure. The formation of liquid alkaline chromates caused this hot corrosion. On the other hand the hot corrosion did not occur at 1023 K and 1073 K. At 923 K in 33%O-2-67%CO2, the hot corrosion occurred with (Li0.62K0.38)(2)CO3 and (Li0.7K0.3)(2)CO3 coating, but it did not occur with (Li0.5K0.5)(2)CO3 and (Li0.43K0.57)(2)CO3 coating as well as (Li0.6Na0.4)(2)CO3 coating. This difference would be caused by the increase in the melting point of the chromate in K rich melt.
