The legal framework and its continuous development are essential for the protection of the environment and its sustainable development. The legal framework is a tool for identification and prevention of natural pollution sources, the prevention of environmental threats to the health of the population and the improvement of the quality of life of people in general. The volume of environmental legislation has increased significantly in recent years, but shortcomings in its implementation and enforcement are not sufficient to address environmental issues. The world community has relatively little knowledge of the potential for improving the legal regulation to strengthen environmental security by addressing global environmental risks.
