摘要
We have developed an X-ray linear sensor called "X-ray color scanner" with multiple energy level differentiation function. Each pixel of this sensor can differentiate the pulse height of an incident photon at five preset energy levels simultaneously. This enables us to emphasize or erase the corresponding parts of specific materials in the output images by calculation of the five energy levels of images. The proposed photon-counting imagery is useful in material identification as well as sample distribution. Also, the color scanner has succeeded in separating gamma rays from different kinds of radioisotopes. Furthermore, using this color scanner in the X-ray CT system, we have demonstrated that this sensor contributes to improvement of tomography image of a metal sample by suppressing scattering and beam hardening effects.
