摘要
This article reviews the relationship between quality of life and psychosocial adaptation to chronic illness and acquired disability (CIAD), and presents a-comprehensive quality of life-based model for assessing and understanding the impact of CIAD on quality of life. The proposed model, termed disability centrality, represents a conceptual and theoretical synthesis of several existing theories and models, drawn from the quality of life and rehabilitation literature. The proposed model offers clinicians a unified approach for understanding adaptation at the individual level and for developing clinically useful interventions.
