Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soils of suburban agricultural landscapes in eastern Moscow region

The contents, composition, and distribution of a large group of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are considered in arable soils of the suburban landscapes in Moscow region. In these soils, geochemical barriers for the PAH accumulation were revealed. The changes in the level of PAH pollution with respect to the distance from the megalopolis were ascertained. In the arable soils of geochemically subordinated landscapes, secondary technogenic PAH anomalies resulted from the lateral migration of polyarenes.
