Inhabiting environments with water risk. Collective housing and productive spaces in the Maldonado Stream

The unplanned growth of the fringe urban areas and the conditions imposed by the territory come together in an urban and environmental conflict, in which the difficulties inherent in unresolved urban problems are exacerbated by ecological problems, in a negative synergy whose causes must be addressed. In the "Investigation Proyectuar, that is to say the research in architectural project, this context is taken as a framework for the development of architectural project explorations that address the integration between living and working in a productive environment, to configure proposals for the development of disadvantaged social groups. Urban environments with water risk are a growing problem due to population growth and climate change, and deserve a look that provides solutions to its inhabitants. An approach to the subject is presented based on proposals of intervention on a sector of the Maldonado Stream basin, in the SE conurbation of La Plata, proposing a theoretical contribution to the subject, with considerations and criticisms about them.
