Bi4Ti3O12 nanocrystals synthesized via hydrothermal reaction

摘要
Bismuth titanate Bi4Ti3O12 nanocrystals were successfully synthesized using tetrabutyl titanate ((C8H9O)(4)Ti), bismuth nitrate (Bi(NO3)(3)center dot 5H(2)O) as precursors and KOH as mineralizer via hydrothermal reaction at 200 degrees C for 24 h. The phase formation and morphology of the synthesized powders were investigated using XRD, SEM, and TEM. The result shows that the powders were pure Bi4Ti3O12 exhibiting distinguished crystal morphologies of nanosheet and nanobelt. It is found the surface of the Bi4Ti3O12 nanosheets parallels the (001) lattice plane. And the formation mechanism of nanosheet and nanobelt Bi4Ti3O12 was discussed.
