Chiral API manufacture continues to be technically challenging. Many chiral technologies hove been developed in, the post ten years, but implementation has been slower than initially anticipated. It has become clear that the chiral step Must be considered in the context of the total synthesis. Chiral Quest has developed a broad range of asymmetric hydrogenation catalysts and is working with CSS to develop complete ssynthesis routes to chiral building blocks and APIs. Cost effective processes for complex products are being developed by combining the expertise of CO in asymmetric catalysis with the process development strength of CSS. This paper provides some examples of how this combined capability can be applied.
