Domestic Violence Against Women: Causes and Prevention Strategies

This paper focuses on domestic violence against women in Kaduna state. It deals with the causes, implications, preventive measures adopted by families strategies for enhancing the preventive measures on ground. Four research questions were answered. The sample was made up of 300 husbands and 300 wives drawn from the total population of about 1,144,276 households in the study area. The findings revealed inter alia 22 causes of domestic violence in the home, nine implications six practices adopted by families in preventing domestic violence while 10 strategies were suggested as preventive measures and recommendation were made.
