A decision support system for hydropower peaking operation

摘要
This paper describes a modelling system for balancing hydropower economy against environmental impacts using a case study from the river Nidelva, Norway. Several types of models were integrated into a decision support system to analyse and rank the effects on river habitats of different hydro-peaking patterns. The qualification of these patterns is based on both power production finance and environmental effects on fish habitats in the downstream river. The modelling system consists of a hydropower simulation model (nMAG), a dynamic river hydraulics model (BOSS DAMBRK) and a habitat simulation and classification model (HABITAT).
