Low power active dimming liquid crystal display with high resolution backlight

摘要
A new low power active dimming algorithm in LCD applications with high resolution backlights such as 1-D and 2-D is demonstrated. Simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm in a 2-D backlight outperforms 0-D dimming with respect to power consumption by 12% on average over 24 KODAK images without any visible block artefacts.
