Particles entrainment of a modified gas-solid fluidized bed

摘要
Entrainment of FCC particles was investigated in a fluidized bed coupled with a vertical transport pipe in the freeboard. The results show that in the modified fluidized bed, the solid concentration in the splash zone is lower than that of the traditional fluidized bed, but solid concentration at the cyclone separator inlet is higher than that of the traditional fluidized bed. Mean particle diameter at the cyclone separator inlet is larger in the modified fluidized bed than in the traditional fluidized bed. For superficial gas velocity greater than 1.27 m/s, the composition of entrained particle barely changed with increasing superficial gas velocity.
